Song Joined Barca

Barcelona - Completed is the process of moving Alex Song from Arsenal to Barcelona. Cameroon midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the Catalans.

Shortly after Barca reach price agreement with Arsenal - who reportedly reached 19 million euros ($ 222.5 billion) -, Song immediately to Spain to undergo a medical test. He then agreed to a private agreement with the club before he signed the contract.

"Alex Song is officially a Barcelona player. Afternoon after the player passed a medical test, he signed a five-year contract with the club," the statement on Barca's official website.

Rosell: Abidal Back Early Next Year

Barcelona - Barcelona defender Eric Abidal, currently undergoing health recovery process. The French defender is believed to be able to return to the gridiron at the beginning of next year.

Abidal to undergo liver transplantation after surgical removal of the tumor in the last year it still remains a problem. For liver transplants, the cousin Abidal willing to be a donor. The operation had been carried out in April.

Abidal now it has left the hospital. But, he still had to undergo regular check-ups.

Former Lyon's players had expressed his belief could comeback in December. However, Barca president, Sandro Rosell, assessing new Abidal will recover in the next month.

Villa should inhabit the treatment room for more than eight months due to a broken Tabia when defending Barca in Club World Cup final last year.

After the injury healing process is completed, Villa returned to play in the first week of the 2012-2013 Spanish league, winning 5-1 at Azulgrana from Real Sociedad.

In the match that took place at Camp Nou on Sunday (20/8/20012) yesterday, Villa also participated and contributed a goal for Barca. Aware with so much support suporter Los Cules, the 30-year footballer was utter gratitude through his Twitter account.

Villa's brilliant return to the Camp Nou

The Camp Nou gave the forward a standing ovation when he started warming up on the sidelines and he returned the supporters' affection with a goal.

David Villa made a dream-like return to the Camp Nou this evening. 247 days after he broke his tibia, the Azulgrana forward took to the Camp Nou pitch against Real Sociedad in Barça’s 2012/13 first La Liga match. The crowd’s standing ovation was deafening when he came on and he was quick to return the supporters’ acclaim: on 83 minutes he linked-up with Iniesta and scored, with his left foot, the definitive 5-1. He dedicated the goal to his family and his physio Emili Ricard, a man that was key to the forward’s recovery.

Barcelona - Real Sociedad (5-1)

The team put in an excellent collective effort in tonight's La Liga opener against Real Sociedad, but the 5-1 rout couldn't have happened without key contributions from Leo Messi, Cristian Tello, David Villa, Carles Puyol and Tito Vilanova.
